The Orangerie is a space of 5 x 20 x 7 m, adjoined to the castle, open on three sides and facing south-east with large windows looking to the park. The vegetation is overgrown, and a tall rubber tree occupies the interior.

The client has requested to use this space as a large entertaining space. The orangerie becomes the main access to the castle and at the same time is part of the architecture that characterises the estate.

The interior of the Orangerie has been cleared of any bulky items. This allows us to rediscover the original proportions, to put back the natural light and unveil the materials and the layers of the time. The metal frame makes it possible to arrange the electric cables that power the lights and the video and sound systems. The electric grid up the walls is inserted in the exposed steel pipes
All these elements – thanks to their contrast with the existing framework – aim to highlight and magnify the space of the orangery.
