The basis of the competition is the construction of a 500-seat theatre in the outdoor spaces of a former abandoned monastery in a small town in central Italy.

Our proposal aims firstly at testing the role and the urban potentialities of the project site.
Work is focused on targeted actions that are less expensive than the construction of a new building; we therefore decided to work with existing features, showcasing the monastery and its heritage via its transformation. It is a flexible, progressive transformation that can be implemented over time according to the reaction of the town and its needs in the immediate future and in coming years.
A new structure inside the church hosts a 200 person capacity theatre, with buildings in relatively good condition housing the logistical equipment necessary for putting on shows, and the large outdoor area is developed to accommodate up to 1000 people during major open air events.
